• Prince Charles, upon visiting the Bushmills distillery in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, as part of the whiskey maker's 400th anniversary celebration (it was granted a license to distill by King James I in 1608):"It's a great joy to be able to visit. Having visited a few distilleries in my time I am fascinated to see what you do here.
"I'm glad that an ancestor of mine had the good sense to grant a license!"
